National S'mores Day: Creative Treats for Kids!

National S’mores Day is on August 10th! Who knew? Maybe some of you did, but I had no idea that my favorite foodie delight has its very own holiday. I’m super-ready to celebrate with some of my absolute favorite recipes.

Dessert holiday

It’s summertime so I’ll probably do the good old fashioned toasted marshmallow version (those are my son’s favorites), but I’ll also whip up a buffet of my fancier versions. Maybe I’ll even come up with a new s’more recipe or two on the 10th in honor of the ooey gooey treat’s big day! Stay tuned for a new marshmallow-chocolate-graham cracker blend on National S’mores Day. But, in the meanwhile, here are a few of my other tasty creations (click on the name to read the how-to):

They’re pretty, they’re pink and they sparkle. Did I mention they also have a real strawberry flavor? Perfect or a princess party or if your child is a princess every day!

Sparkle strawberry treats

Cherries and chocolate are a sweet, but tart, couple. Not only do the real cherries add flavor, but they also perk up the bland marshmallow’s colors. Add coconut and it’s a terrifically tasty treat.

Coconut chocolate

It’s hot in the summer. Some might say, too hot for a snowman. Your child can build the beloved Disney character and then melt him into this white chocolate and marshmallow masterpiece.
